For Wilderness Festival’s first collaborative art commission, London-based artist and immersive theatre producer Laura Drake Chambers teams up with celebrated Craft Designer, Cee Winn, to conjure In The Garden We Grow; a site-specific installation inspired by the adventurous nature of growing your own garden.

Laura Drake Chambers, Artist, Costumier and Creative Producer, known for her work as Creative Director of queer-led, immersive theatre organisation Shotgun Carousel, and Cee Winn, multi-disciplinary maker, Craft Designer and crochet artist, bring In The Garden We Grow, a transformation of everyday materials into captivating works of nature inspired art.

From felted fox-gloves, to crochet cucumbers, In The Garden We Grow invites Wilderness festival-goers of all ages to get “green-fingered” and be inspired by the magic of losing oneself in the beauty of creativity, collaboration and cultivation of both gardening and craft-making.

The installation’s vision celebrates the beauty of gardening, flowers, and growing vegetables, and the power we have to make beautiful things with our hands, especially using raw and foraged materials. With the project’s craft design led by multi-disciplinary artist, Cee Winn and their focus on widely accessible techniques and materials to bring an exciting and organic, interactive environment for all ages and abilities.

Both Laura and Cee, are thrilled to be coming together to create Wildness Festival’s first Collaborative Art Project, to bring together their love of all things that grow, of handmade crafts, of the transformation of recycled materials into beautiful artworks, and of creating extraordinary art installations that leave a lasting impact on both the viewer and the environment.

In The Garden We Grow opens on Thursday 3rd August at 2pm and will be brought to a ceremonial close on Sunday 6th August at 4pm.
