Travel is typically the largest source of carbon emissions from live events but we’re working with the charity ecolibrium to tackle these impacts. Since 2018 your donations when booking festival tickets have balanced over 62,000 audience travel miles. Moving forward, for every car park and live-in vehicle pass booked, £1 will automatically go to ecolibrium and their Energy Revolution projects. This small investment will help account for the carbon emissions from your festival journey, turning fossil-fuel travel miles into clean, renewable energy and transforming a problem into a solution.
We also encourage you, where possible, to reduce your emissions by choosing one of our more sustainable festival travel options. Whether that’s coming by train and shuttle bus, booking one of our partner coach journeys, or by starting your weekend in style with Red Fox Cycling’s Ride to Wilderness scheme.
ecolibrium is a live events industry response to the climate crisis – a community of events, festivals, suppliers, artists and music companies taking action to reduce travel impacts and invest in climate solutions. Since 2015, ecolibrium has worked with over 55 events and 40 suppliers to balance the carbon emissions from over 13 million travel miles. They provide resources, tools, advice and inspiration to reduce travel emissions and aim to invest £1m in climate solutions by 2025 – supporting ecosystem protection, regeneration and clean energy generation.
