Hailing from Sidmouth in Devon, Harriet’s career in the food world began with her first job at a fruit and vegetable store. Working various part-time restaurant jobs throughout her teen years, after graduating from Cardiff University, she completed her Cordon Bleu culinary training. After a small stint in London, Harriet embarked on a three-month stage at Noma in Copenhagen, which opened her eyes to a whole new world of flavours and ingredients. Following this she completed a couple of stints in high-profile London kitchens as well as a brewery, whilst also working towards her qualifications as a sommelier.
Harriet Mansell’s Lyme Regis restaurant Robin Wylde opened late 2020, following her sell-out pops in Lyme Regis in 2019. Set on historic Silver Street, a short stroll from the rugged Dorset coastline, the restaurant shines a light on the abundance of wild and wonderful West Country ingredients. Lilac is Harriet Mansell’s second Dorset venue, a 40-cover restaurant and wine bar, specializing in small plates and wines from small-scale, independent producers including low-intervention and those based in West Country.
