Rachel Clarke specialises in palliative medicine, caring deeply about helping patients live the end of their lives as fully and richly as possible – and in the power of human stories to build empathy and inspire change. Rachel is the author of three Sunday Times bestselling books and her most recent, Breathtaking, reveals what life was really like inside the NHS during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Poets Hannah Gordon and Janett Plummer are part of Malika’s Poetry Kitchen. In the early years of the new millennium, poets Malika Booker and Roger Robinson saw the need for a space for writers outside of the establishment to grow, improve, discuss and learn. One Friday night, Malika offered her Brixton kitchen table as a meeting place. And so Malika’s Poetry Kitchen was born. ‘Kitchen’, as it became known, has ushered in a new generation of voices, launching some of the most exciting writers, books and initiatives in British poetry in the past twenty years. Hannah and Janett will be reading poems from Too Young, Too Loud, Too Different, a collection of new poems from the collective as well as their wider work.

We have one more author to be announced.
