Lead by Pleasance London Associate Artist, Kat Woods
There is a huge myth that fetishizes the notion of the working writer; to be a writer one must write every day at a certain time for x amount of hours whilst the words flow from your mind and land perfectly on the page, job done. To be frank, this is bullshit. Writing is rewriting and what works for some will not work for others. There is no writing blueprint. This workshop aims to showcase how to formulate an idea and flesh it out to become something that could work on stage but most importantly something that will make it unique to the writer.
Kat is a writer and director from Co. Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. She has a particular interest in staging works that provide a platform for those from the working/benefit class backgrounds. An Associate Writer at Omnibus London, her plays Wasted, Mule and Killymuck have been staged in Edinburgh, London and internationally.
