Discontinuous communities have formed and thrived in our cities’ cruising spots, porn cinemas, dungeons, and other sub-public spaces. In recent years, legislation and gentrification have caused these spaces to decline rapidly. These spaces form part of the urban fabric and tell an unwritten architectural history of the marginalised people who inhabited them.
Misconceptions around our communities have created loopholes in safeguarding for too long. This panel seeks to open dialogues around current licensing issues and the publics’ shameful relationship with kink.
