The Atrium – supported by Time Out – is a compendium of high arts. It’s the place where the strands of our festival unite. An assembly of sensational music and dance from the UK and around the world, The Atrium is the best bits of Wilderness collected under one canopy. As unique and singular as Wilderness itself.
We are delighted to welcome Letters Live to The Atrium for the first time, in a festival first for them. Ronnie Scott’s take the reins for a special night of high atmospherics with Lucky Peterson on Friday. The Wilderness Orchestra pay tribute to Nina Simone with the help of the wonderful Laura Mvula, with special guests Will Young, Honeyfeet;s Rioghnach Connolly and the Ronnie Scott’s house band – not to mention Paul Rpbinson, Nina’s drummer for 20 years. Leftfield pianist and composer Hauschka performs his unique show whilst celebrated dance institutions Sadler’s Wells and Company Wayne Mcgregor each stage a specially curated programme of work, Breakin’ Convention throw down their B-boy styles, and London label and promoter Movimientos host a tropical party featuring some of the freshest artists from their stable. Show tunes meet classical music, Hip Hop Karaoke rubs up against jazz, mass yoga meets swing dance. With a mass wedding thrown in for good measure. Participation. Singing. Dancing. Talking. Learning.
