CLAY PLAY: SCULPT YOUR OWN BOTANICAL DECOR

Back

Work with air-dry clay and natural materials to shape small objects you can decorate with – create jewellery, hanging decor for your campsite, wall pieces, or something more freeform.

You’ll start by forming your base, then press flowers, leaves, and found materials into the surface to build texture and pattern. Some pieces stay simple and flat, others become more sculptural – it’s totally up to you!

You’ll be shown how to shape, smooth, and work the clay so it holds together, then you can experiment with composition and detail as you go. There’s no fixed outcome – you can follow an idea or just respond to the materials in front of you.

It’s hands-on, a bit messy, and easy to drop into for as much or as little time as you feel like staying for.

About your facilitator – Ida Lehtonen, aka Noodlesndoooodles
Ida Lehtonen (she/her) is a London-based illustrator and founder of noodlesndooodles – an artist-led studio creating colourful, playful work across print, ceramics, and objects. Her practice is rooted in drawing, nature, and a sense of curiosity, often shaped by her work with children.

Alongside her own work, Ida runs workshops in a wide range of settings – from community gardens and schools to mixed-age public sessions – creating spaces that are relaxed, supportive, and focused on process rather than outcome. Her sessions encourage experimentation, play, and getting hands-on with materials.
