Kusasa is a South African-British DJ making waves across the UK club scene with her infectious energy and genre-defying sets. A true selector and party starter, she brings together deep, sensual, percussive and dubby sounds, layering grooves that keep the dancefloor locked in.
With her background in dance, combined with a rich musical upbringing, she channels her natural rhythm into every set. She has shared the stage with artists including Amor Satyr, Bianca Oblivion, Bluetoof, Chunky, Florentino, K-Lone, Hagan, Hodge, Reek0, Ruf Dug, Sarra Wild, Safety Trance, Shanti Celeste, Steven Julien and Tash LC. While playing respected venues and festivals such as The White Hotel, Wire Club, We Out Here, Tate Lates, BBE Store, Strange Brew and Repercussions.
As a resident at both CROP and Steam Radio, Kusasa puts in the work, consistently delivering fresh mixes, with guest mixes on RINSE FM, Balamii, NTS, Subtle & Radio 1001. She previously co-hosted Sounds of Resistance, a radio show exploring the relationship between music, protest and cultural movements through songs from across the globe. Her work extends into cultural projects too - freelancing as a creative in Greater Manchester, producing for CROP Radio, curating events and soundtracks, and contributing to projects such as “The Record Store & Black Music : England’s Tastemakers documentary and the RA x Sable Skills lab with NIKS & Tarsza.
