Layo & Bushwacka!

Layo & Bushwacka! are one of the most influential partnerships to emerge from the UK’s late-1990s underground electronic movement. Formed through London’s club and warehouse scene, the duo developed a distinctive sound that blurred house, breakbeat, downtempo and electronic experimentation, rooted in emotion, musicality and dancefloor instinct. Their recorded output spans multiple artist albums, remix projects and compilations, reflecting an open-minded approach that consistently pushed beyond genre boundaries.

Alongside their studio work, Layo & Bushwacka! became central figures in London nightlife through their now legendary residency at The End, where their DJ sets earned a global reputation for depth, narrative flow and long-form musical storytelling.

After more than a decade apart pursuing independent paths, Layo & Bushwacka! reunite in 2026 and 2027 for a carefully considered return centred around the 25-year anniversary of Night Works. More than a retrospective, the project reconnects the duo with the music, ideas and creative chemistry that defined the album, presented with the perspective and focus of where they are now. This next chapter celebrates an enduring creative partnership and a body of work whose influence continues to echo across generations of electronic music.
