MAMI CHULA

Mami Chula is a South-American born, Leeds-based DJ, curator, producer, facilitator and radio host. Her work focuses on exploring the sounds of Abya Yala and the diaspora, and sonic cultures of resistance. Mami Chula explores historically marginalised and subversive sounds and clubbing practices. She understands the dancefloor as a healing space with the opportunity to centre PoC joy. She is also the founder of Azúcar Creative Space (@azucar_creativespace), a project seeking to address the colonial legacies in the music industry whilst creating community; and the radio host of Suave on @altoradio.
