CUSTOMISATION STATION: CREATE A DIY FABRIC PATCH

Back

from £10

Maker's Market

Create a fabric patch you can stitch or pin onto your clothes, bag or anything else that could do with a DIY update!

No previous experience needed, you’ll work with fabric, paint and simple hand-sewn appliqué to build a design from scratch – shapes, letters, symbols, patterns or whatever takes your fancy during the festival. Feel free to arrive ready with a fully or partially formed idea, or come without and start by playing around with colour and materials until an idea clicks into place.

You’ll be shown how to cut, layer and stitch your patch so it holds together properly, with guidance throughout to help you shape it into something wearable and durable. Keep it graphic and minimal, or build something more textured with extra details.

Paint, pens, thread and fabric will all be provided, and you’re welcome to bring along scraps, buttons, beads, or old materials you’ve been meaning to use. This workshop is as much about reworking what already exists as it is about making something new.

By the end, you’ll leave with a finished patch and a simple technique you can keep using – an easy way to customise clothes, cover worn spots, or give old favourites a second life.
