MAKE A MINI FESTIVAL JOURNAL: BEGINNERS’ BOOK BINDING
from £12
Maker's MarketAssemble a small journal, notebook or sketchbook from scratch using recycled materials.
You’ll stack, align and stitch your pages together using simple hand-binding techniques, working step by step until it comes together as a finished book.
The making process here is steady and repetitive in a good way – measuring, threading, stitching – until you create a fully formed piece.
You can keep it clean and minimal or add small details as you go. By the end, you’ll have something you can actually use – to sketch, write, or document your time at Wilderness.
This is a calm, practical session focused on making something functional without overcomplicating it.
This workshop pairs brilliantly with two other workshops that are happening across the weekend: ‘CARVE, INK + PRINT IT: MAKE YOUR OWN STAMP’, also by Edie from 4 - 4:45pm on Thu 30th July; and ‘FESTIVAL PAGES: START YOUR OWN JUNK JOURNAL’ by The Common Corner from 11am - 12pm on Sun 2nd August. Bring your newly created stamps and/or mini journal to fill with scraps and found objects you’ve collected across the weekend, to make a beautiful festival memento to document your weekend, take home and treasure.
Edie Bound (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist and conservationist creating work exploring human and natural worlds, leading workshops and guided walks rooted in folklore, nature and hands-on creative practice.
