In this workshop, you’ll go back to the source – working with raw sheep and alpaca wool to spin your own yarn using simple, ancient techniques. It’s slow, rhythmic, and calm: the kind of process that gently pulls you out of your head and into your hands.

As you draft, twist, and spin, you’ll begin to understand wool not just as a material, but as something alive with history, landscape, and connection. It’s a chance to reconnect – to craft, to nature, and to a pace of making that our ancestors used.

You’ll leave with your own hand-spun yarn, and a new appreciation for the journey behind every piece of clothing you wear. If the day/time of this workshop doesn’t work for you, Sarabi will be hosting two other sessions on different days across the festival: Sat 01 Aug (3:15-4:15pm) and Sun 01 Aug (3:15-4:15pm).

Sarabi Hawke (she/her) is a designer and facilitator exploring fashion, ecology and collective making, leading workshops that reconnect people to materials through regenerative, process-led craft and shared creative practice.

  • Experiences will only be held for 20 minutes, after that tickets are subject to resale and will be automatically cancelled without refund.

Outdoor Experiences

  • Outdoor experiences will take place come rain or shine.
  • For any outdoor experiences outside of the arena, unless specified otherwise on the individual booking page, please meet 15 minutes before the designated start time at the Wilderness Meeting Point where you will be met and guided to your experience.
