WILD WINGS: MAKE AN INSECT-INSPIRED GARLAND

Bring a li’l handmade touch to your campsite – or even your outfit – by creating your own insect-inspired felt garland.

Cut, layer, and build a garland from felt and fabric and fashion yourself somethin’ fancy-lookin’ to hang back at camp, and – once the festival’s finished – reuse again and again at festivals and festivities for years to come!

You’ll start by sketching out a few cute shapes or ideas, then translate them into fabric – cutting, layering, and adding details with glue, stitching, or pen. Letters, symbols, characters, abstract shapes.

A master of collaging colour and shape together in the most wonderful way, Elly will guide you as you design your garland motifs – keep it minimal with a few strong elements, or build something more detailed and playful. Once your pieces are ready, you’ll assemble them onto rope or a stick so they hang properly as a finished piece.

It’s relaxed and flexible – you can work solo or alongside friends, sharing ideas and building something that reflects your weekend.
