POCKET TALISMANS: CREATE YOUR OWN CUSTOM BADGE SET

Join this session for something quick, creative and low-pressure and still come away with something meaningful you can wear all weekend long – and beyond…

Design and make a set of designs to conjure yourself a set of small, wearable talismans, all using collage, drawing, and text – then turn them into your very own custom badge set using our press machine!

Your tiny designs can draw on symbols, charms, abstract marks or personal imagery – building meaning through simple combinations of shape, image and word.

Using found materials and printed sources, compositions are layered and refined before being pressed into badges, ready to wear straight away.

The badge-making process is quick and repeatable, allowing for multiple designs to be developed in one session.

This session pairs particularly well with two other workshops! Bring the stamps you create during ‘CARVE, INK + PRINT IT: MAKE YOUR OWN STAMP’, also by Edie (4-4:45pm on Thu 30 Jul), to work into your badge designs; and add your newly created badge set to the tote you appliquéd during ‘STITCH YOUR OWN STORY: WILD WOLF APPLIQUÉ TOTE BAGS’ by The Wolves (11am-12:30pm on Fri 31 Jul) – carry your festival essentials around in an accessory you’ve expertly decorated yourself over the weekend.
