Nubiyan Twist

Since forming in 2011 at the Leeds College of Music, Nubiyan Twist have risen to become one of the leading lights in the fertile UK Jazz scene. Known for their eclectic blend of styles and powerful sound, the virtuosic nine-piece band’s thrilling exploration of tight musicianship and infectious grooves have consistently mesmerised audiences.

On their most recent album, 'Find Your Flame’, the band seamlessly weave together global grooves, soul and jazz; expertly intertwined with electronic elements, horn-led melodies and spontaneous improvisation.

The heady, sun-drenched release is peppered with impressive collaborations from across the globe, including the iconic Nile Rodgers who brings his trademark disco mastery to single ‘Lights Out’, as well as Seun Kuti and Mamani Keita alongside homegrown UK talent corto.alto, Ria Moran, K.O.G. & NEONE the Wonderer. The album also marks a significant evolution for the group, welcoming Sheffield-based vocalist Aziza Jaye to the forefront.
