Thomas Gifford Centre

The Thomas Gifford Trust is a not-for-profit, local charity dedicated to Charlbury Town and the surrounding area.

It works on different community projects and raised the £2.4 million needed to build the Charlbury Community Centre which opened in 2017. Now that the centre is open, they continue to raise funds to help with running costs. You can continue to support and thank this wonderful community for the part they play in making Wilderness happen by donating £2 to this extremely worthwhile charity when booking your festival tickets.

The aim of Charlbury Community Centre is to provide something for everyone in the town and surrounding villages. With a multi-discipline sports hall and fitness studio, the town’s fully accessible public library, and a café, it caters to all ages and abilities. From play sessions and a party venue for the youngest members of the community to physical and social well-being for the elderly, with a coffee club, film club, Strength & Balance classes and line dancing. It is fully owned and managed by the Thomas Gifford Trust, with over 100 hours a week provided by volunteers to supplement the work of the professional staff.
