Intro to Planting and Garden Design
Coming soon
The Soul Food CaféA welcoming introduction to the principles of planting and garden design, exploring how to create beautiful, functional and ecologically sensitive outdoor spaces. This session will cover the basics of understanding a site, choosing the right plants for the right place, working with colour, texture, form and seasonality, and thinking about how gardens can support both people and wildlife.
Designed for beginners, this introduction offers a practical foundation for anyone interested in shaping a garden, community space, balcony, courtyard or small growing area with more confidence and intention. You’ll leave with some seeds, so that you can get started on your own.
Daze Aghaji is an environmental activist, writer, facilitator, avid grower, forager and folklorist whose work explores nature connection, culture, belonging and social change. They are interested in how people can build deeper relationships with land, place and community, often bringing together practical, creative and reflective approaches in their work.
Through workshops, public programmes and storytelling, Daze creates welcoming spaces for people to reconnect with the natural world. Their practice is rooted in care, curiosity and the belief that land, plants, folklore and everyday acts of connection can help us imagine more grounded and regenerative ways of living.
